The walls of Peschiera World Heritage Sites

14/11/2019

The Venetian walls of Peschiera del Garda become World Heritage Sites.

During the 41st session of the World Heritage Committee yesterday in Krakow, the 53rd Italian site was listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. These are the "Venetian Defense Works between the 16th and 17th Century: State of the Earth - State of the Western Sea", an extraordinary collection of the most representative defensive systems made by the Republic of Venice, designed after the discovery of gunpowder and presented by Italy, together with Croatia and Montenegro, in 2016 to UNESCO in Paris.

By decision of the World Heritage Committee, the defense works in Bergamo, Palmanova, Peschiera del Garda for Italy, Zara and Šibenik for Croatia, and Cattaro for Montenegro, become now part of the UNESCO site.

We look forward to welcome you for seeing our beautiful walls and the history they have with our canoes! A dive between past and present, in direct contact with the waters of our Lake Garda.
The canoes of our fleet are very large, open, so parents can safely live a lake experience with their children, sitting in front of them or among themselves. Everybody is handed a life jacket. Rent in reception with bail of € 50,00 per canoe: from € 6,00 per head for canoe hire for minimum 2 people for 1 day.
